On September 13, Charlie entertained a hearty group at Readers Books in Sonoma.

Meet author and consultant Charlie Price.

For decades, he was best known as an educator and mental health professional.  But in the fall of 2006, DEAD CONNECTION, his first novel for teens and adults was released by Roaring BrookPress, an imprnt at edited by Deborah Brodie for Holtzbrinck Publisher in New York.

Critically acclaimed, DEAD CONNECTION was followed in 2007 by LIZARD PEOPLE, Charlie's second distinctive novel, also very well reviewed.

BREAKING NEWS!!

Charlie's third novel, HOTEL OBLIVION will be released in August of 2008!

DEAD CONNECTION was selected as one of the 15 finalists for the 2008-2008 Missouri Gateway Readers Award. The book will be read by teens all over the state of Missouri and the final winner will be announced in March 2009.

Meet Square Fish!

Charlie Price's body of work will now be part of the Square Fish imprint.  What does that mean?  The folks at Square Fish said it best on their website (http://www.squarefishbooks.com/meet-square-fish/):

"Welcome to SQUARE FISH, an imprint that represents the best of the Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Henry Holt and Roaring Brook backlist, but reformatted, repackaged and reissued with a mass market children's and teen audience in mind.  FSG, Holt and Roaring Brook have between them accomplished one of the most impressive rosters of titles in children's book history.  Really, if we were to do a tally of awards won, it would add up to 19 Newberys, 24 Caldecotts, 4 National Book Awards, and the honors go on and on and on."
