October 25,  2011 --- Release of 4th Book   DESERT ANGEL  Book receives starred review from KIRKUS.        Publisher's Weekly calls it a gripping visceral thriller. 

 Charlie's third novel, THE INTERROGATION OF GABRIEL JAMES, edited by Wes Adams and has been released August 17th by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. This novel already has excellent reviews from Booklist, Kirkus, and Publisher's Weekly! For a look at his new Macmillan author page, click here. 

Charlie's debut novel, DEAD CONNECTION,  has just been bought including translation rights by Random House, UK, for world-wide distribution. Random House changed the name to HEAR THE DEAD CRY. In the same deal they purchased DESERT ANGEL, Charlie's fourth book which is coming our fall of 2011.

For decades, he was best known as an educator and mental health professional.  But in the fall of 2006, DEAD CONNECTION, his first novel for teens and adults was released by Roaring Brook Press, an imprint at Holtzbrinck Publisher in New York -- edited by Deborah Brodie.   Deborah is now freelancing as an editor, so visit her website if you're looking for professional help.

 Charlie's first novel, DEAD CONNECTION was selected as one of the finalists for the TEEN READERS and LIBRARY AWARDS in Georgia, Missouri, New Jersey, and South Carolina.  Gateway Readers Award.

Critically acclaimed, DEAD CONNECTION was followed in 2007 by LIZARD PEOPLE, Charlie's second distinctive novel, also received excellent reviews.
